Playing old games

Post by jim the chin »

Being a computer newb I just found out how to play old games like Sonic on my comp. Just got done reliving Mortal Kombat (The greatest game ever made! :ugeek:). Does anyone else still play these? I'm looking for some good ones to download.

If you don't know how to download them, try: http://thomasswan.hubpages.com/hub/How- ... r-Computer

Its almost more fun collecting these then playing them, but the old Metroid/Super Metroid are worth reliving.

You should look to mame and original arcade roms like pacman, donkey kong, defender, joust etc. You cant beat the graphics/sounds of the 80ies arcade versions. Tempest (arcade version) is one of my top picks.

I've been playing emulators of old school games on and off for at least 10 years. I love me some retro action from time to time. Save states make it so much less frustrating too! Especially hard platformers like Contra and Megaman.

I just passed DuckTales last weekend actually. Shorty but goodie.

There are so many classic games it's hard to recommend some without knowing what you like. Well that and nostalgia plays a big part for a lot of folds playing old games so it really depends on your childhood.

Google top nes or snes games for some good lists to jog you memory.

NES Gradius and Mike Tyson's Punch Out are good ones.

You have to spend the time to master Gradius before you can appreciate it.

Great game, sure. But no way it's better than Super Mario Bros. 3. That is my favorite game of all time.
